Episode 73: After School Special

Unfortunately this episode is not about the murder spree of beloved childrens character Big Bird, it is in-fact, much worse. The girls speed run the five stages of grief as they discuss their complicated thoughts and feelings about the characterisation of Dean in this weeks episode of Supernatural. The cultural differences between Australian and American highschools are explored (ft. information sourced from our new American Correspondent, Elayna!), and the phrase "floppy hair, floppy morals" is spoken with more conviction than it maybe deserves.

Episode 75: Death Takes A Holiday

 Jamie "commit to the bit" [redacted] takes issue with Supernatural's definition of a holiday, petitioning that the Reapers should unionise to get adequate paid holiday leave (time spent kidnapped doesn't count). The girls mourn the loss of Pamela, who at least retained the right to die mad about it (™), and in a rare occurrence, Beth comes prepared with a PSA guess through which she vents her frustrations about a commonly misinterpreted phrase.

Episode 76: On The Head Of A Pin

Well, there's really only one thing to say.... DEMON BLOOD BUBBLE TEAAAAAA!!!!! This week the girls are discussing all the ways in which Jamie was correct about a prediction she made almost a season ago, and Beth can finally breathe. Other topics include; Cas being Parker coded (affectionate), Sam being Nate coded (unexpected), and Dean being righteous (debateable).

The Sera Gamble Longcon continues this week as the girls discuss Dean ‘Cool Career Ken’ Smith’s inability to steam milk (Jamie has a lot of opinions for someone who’s lactose intolerant), Beth delights over Sam ‘Customer Service Is My Passion’ Wesson, and Jamie calls for justice for Zachariah; so rude of Cas to say Uriel is the funniest angel in the garrison when Zach is literally right there! Also featuring the tubby custard machine and being lost in the sauce.

Episode 78: The Monster At The End Of This Book

It’s Jamie’s turn to play the role of Supernatural Academic(tm) this week as she shows up pre-prepared with the recommended reading, diagnoses Chuck with “poor little meow meow” disease, and makes some astute observations about thematic colours and lighting, all while furthering her Trickster theory (you know the one). Meanwhile, Beth is delighting over all the references, easter eggs, and tidbits of information that this very meta episode provides.

Episode 79: Jump The Shark ~ ft. KJ of SPN Opinions & Wayward Parents!

In a remarkable act of friendship Jamie and Beth are joined by KJ (of SPN Opinions) who so kindly agreed to deal with their chaos for a few hours for the paltry reward of finally getting to finish points raised in ‘A Very Supernatural Christmas’ over a season ago, and spirited debate on the best way to beat john to death. The girls meet Adam (ghoul’s version) and debate the accuracy of his portrayal. Jamie comes prepared with theories which are only slightly more batshit than usual. Beth enjoys the tennis tournament of the john hatred that KJ and Jamie have decided to bring onto the podcast. KJ teaches the girls what ‘jump the shark’ actually means (a thing that they were previously too lazy to google themselves).

Episode 80: The Rapture

This week is all about the bevvies as Beth & Jamie debate appropriate times to drink milk, and the most efficient way to consume demon blood. The girls praise Misha’s performance as both Jimmy “wrist not limp enough” Novak, and Castiel “gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss” of The Lord (best encapsulated by a 45 degree head tilt, dishevelled tie, and 3 octave lowered voice). All while Jamie expands her theory on angelic possession, including relevant ancestry, and contamination of vessels.

New halo, new me! Cas is the hot topic of conversation this week despite this being Thee Sam Has Trauma episode, the girls acknowledge their predisposition to almost completely ignore whatever Sam is doing (then proceed to change nothing about their behaviour). Jamie and Beth compare notes on wing imagery and Beth admits that perhaps the scene was just a little too dark. Ft. trusty sidekick google, and the science of love and attraction.

Beth introduces everyone to 'the beer theories', Jamie questions Naomi's interior decorating choices, and Naomi comes prepared with a visual aid (for the auditory only podcast) depicting her interpretations of the art used in The Gaslighting Room.
